The house number is allocated by the town of Olsberg. The owner is then obliged to provide their house with the allocated house number and to keep it in a legible condition.
In addition to mail delivery, house numbering also plays an important role for emergency services such as the fire brigade, medical care and crime prevention.
It can be considerably more difficult for emergency services to find a property if the house is not numbered or if it is not sufficiently recognisable.
To avoid such situations, a visible house number is essential.
