Wastewater disposal in the town of Olsberg is carried out by the wastewater works of the town of Olsberg.
The wastewater works utilises the services of Hochsauerlandwasser GmbH, Meschede (HSW) for technical management (sewer operation and maintenance of the sewer network) and commercial management. Almost 100 % of the buildings to be drained in the urban area are connected to the municipal sewerage system. sewerage system.
The focus of wastewater disposal is on the following areas:
- Maintenance and operation of the existing sewer network
- Renewal of sewers in need of renovation or overloaded sewers
- Expansion of the sewer network in new development areas
- Creation of new sewer connections in new development areas and where there are gaps in the sewer network
The sewers in the street area and the property connection pipe in the public traffic area are part of the public drainage systems. These are also maintained by the sewage works. In the event of blockages in the connection pipe on the private property, the maintenance and repair obligation lies with the property owner. In accordance with legal regulations, an inspection chamber must be installed in the house connection pipe on the property of the subscriber facing the public road.
The town of Olsberg charges fees for the use of the wastewater disposal system in accordance with § 6 of the Local Rates Act.
The wastewater charge covers the costs for the disposal of wastewater. It is divided into a basic fee (€ 46.20 per residential unit / year from 01.01.2024) and a discharge fee, which is calculated according to the fresh water scale (€ 2.76 / m³ drinking water - full connection).
The rainwater fee (€ 0.66 / m² area per year) covers the costs of rainwater disposal. It is charged exclusively on the basis of the built-up (or overbuilt) and/or paved property areas from which rainwater can enter the municipal wastewater system with or without a drainage effect.
