The town of Olsberg maintains the cemetery in the town centre. This is intended for the residents of the Bigge, Olsberg and Helmeringhausen districts.
The allocation of gravesites and the burial work is carried out by the authorised representative of the cemetery administration of the town of Olsberg.
Types of grave:
- Row graves
are gravesites for burial and cremation, which are filled one after the other. It is not possible to reacquire / extend the right of use.
- Elective graves
are gravesites whose location is determined in consultation with the next of kin. These gravesites can be extended at the request of the next of kin after the resting period / period of use has expired.
- Anonymous row graves
are gravesites for cremation burials, which are buried anonymously one after the other in a communal burial ground.
- Tree graves
are grave sites for burial and cremation that are allocated in the root area of a tree.

Resting period
The resting period is 30 years; for children under 5 years 25 years.
Premature return
Grave sites to be planted can be returned to the town of Olsberg before the end of the resting period. This must be applied for in writing or by means of a corresponding application (see forms) by the authorised user to the town of Olsberg. For the remaining term, an annual fee is charged for further maintenance by the City of Olsberg. This fee must be paid in advance. Grave fees paid will not be refunded. The gravesite - except for the headstone - is cleared by the authorised user.
