The town of Olsberg maintains, creates and monitors the necessary transport infrastructure. To this end, it gives its opinion on the planning of classified roads and the supra-local cycle path network, draws up local transport concepts and plans local cycle paths. It is involved in the creation and updating of local and regional transport plans to maintain and expand local public transport.
As the road traffic authority for the town of Olsberg and the municipality of Bestwig, it issues permits for excessive road use (§ 29 Para. 2 StVO) or authorises exceptions to the ban on driving on Sundays and public holidays (§ 30 Para. 2 StVO).
The monitoring of stationary traffic takes place on all public areas (roads, cycle paths, car parks, etc.) on the territory of the town of Olsberg.
