Family ticket

Only a town with families - i.e. with children - has a future!

The Olsberg family card was introduced in June 2007. All businesses, clubs, families and interested parties are invited to participate in the family card as providers and users.

As part of the family policy programme, the Social Affairs Committee decided on 12.06.2006 to introduce a family card in the town of Olsberg. Businesses and other institutions are to be invited to participate. The family card is not only intended to help families, but also to give tradespeople the opportunity to position themselves with families and secure the customers of tomorrow. A family card can therefore also represent a certain competitive advantage for the company involved and make Olsberg a more family-friendly shopping location overall.

The Olsberg Family Card concept is based on two funding channels:

  • Local businesses from the economy, retail and catering sectors offer discounts and special services for holders of the family card.
  • Furthermore, discounts are granted in public facilities (some of which are already in use).

Businesses, retailers and restaurants determine the benefits (type, amount, timing) for the family card themselves.

Clubs that offer family memberships are included in the family card.

Who receives the family card?

  • Requirement: at least 1 parent or legal guardian and 1 child up to the age of 18
  • Independent of income, free of charge, in cheque card form
  • All families with their main residence in Olsberg (currently around 1,500 families)

How do I get the family card?

  • The card will be sent to you unsolicited with a flyer about the current discounts. You can obtain further information from the Citizens' Service Centre in Olsberg Town Hall, by calling 02962 /982-231 or by sending an email request to: post@olsberg.de.

What discounts do I get with the family card?

  • You can find all the providers where you can receive discounts under Downloads.

What do businesses need to know as partners of the programme?

  • The businesses that take part are named in the flyer and here in the "Family Portal" with the specific offers and receive a signet (sticker) that can be displayed publicly for advertising purposes. The advertising association is a partner in this project. The family card will also sustainably support the "Buy local and don't drive away" campaign. Both sides - families as customers and local businesses - can only gain from this project.
